BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED -
SKATING CLASSES DESIGNED WITH YOU IN MIND
Our "Learn to Skate" and "Learn to Play" programs are perfect for kids and adults. These curriculum-based classes follow the Learn to Skate USA skating program, providing instructors for each level. Start by signing up with Learn to Skate USA, our program curriculum.
All classes are 30 minutes with a 30 minute practice time during a public session (not always on the day of the lesson). Learn to skate participants only.
Class Fee - 6 Week Class - $85.00 (Learn to Skate - Snowplow - Pre-Freestyle); $99.00 Freestyle Classes; $99.00 Learn to Play Hockey
Price includes a half-hour lesson, half-hour practice on a public session and skate rental fee. Please check the schedule for the public recreational skating times
Make-Up Classes: There may be an opportunity to schedule a make-up class on another day that there are lessons. Only one make-up class per session will be allowed and has to be made-up in the same session, not in a future session..
Meet the Instructors
Co-Director, On-ice Instructor
She’s a Colorado native and started skating at the age of seven at Boulder Valley Ice at Superior. She fell in love with all the sport had to offer. She was a competitive figure skater all her life and won the 2013 SW Regional Champions and the 2013 Cindy Sullivan Leadership Award during her junior year at Monarch High School. She secured a job with Disney on Ice and figure skated professionally for a year before attending the University of Colorado-Boulder. During her time with Disney on Ice, she traveled across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. While she loved the tour life, she knew that she wanted to move on and pursue a college degree. In May of 2019, Madison graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with a degree in Strategic Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science. She is currently enjoying taking a lead role in growing the Learn to Skate program at the Sport Stable, coaching private figure skating lessons and studying to take the LSAT to attend law school in the future.
I’m a Senior in high school and have been skating competitively for over 12 years. I started coaching at the Sport Stable in 2017 and I absolutely love working with the kids. My favorite part of coaching is being able to see skater’s faces light up when they accomplish something new. I am a double gold medalist in moves in the field and freestyle and have competed in multiple final round Regional Championships.
Hailee began training as a competitive figure skater at the age of 4 and 15 years later Hailee is still competing at the Senior Ladies level and has accomplished two gold medals in Freestyle and Moves in the Field, as well as Regional Champion title. She began volunteering at the age of 12 for Learn to Skate and has been coaching for 7 years now throughout the Learn to Skate Program and has a PSA level I ranking. Skating has taught her many life lessons as well as giving her the opportunity to work for Kroenke Sport Entertainment as a Colorado Avalanche Ice Patrol member.
I have been on the ice for 20 years. 15 years of that was competitive ice skating and that overlapped with now 8 years of coaching Learn-to-Skate.
I passed Gold Tests for Freestyle and Moves in the Field, sectional junior ladies competitor, regional championships junior ladies medalist, University of Colorado skating team captain before graduation in 2017
Hobbies: Skating for fun of course, but besides that, I hike, ski, and climb.
Mary is a USFSA double gold medalist in moves in the field and freestyle. She professionally skated in shows for 4 years prior to becoming a Physician Assistant and is in the process of obtaining her personal trainer certificate. She loves coaching figure skating and hockey students of all ages and has been doing so for the last 6 years. She specializes in Basic Skills, Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Power Skating, and Choreography. Her hobbies include creating content for her figure skating YouTube channel, rock climbing, snowboarding, traveling, and anything outdoors!
Kristen Stamm has been a competitive figure skater for the past 18 years and currently trains at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs in both singles skating and ice dance. She is a US Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist in Freestyle and Moves in the Field, Pre Silver Medalist in Ice Dance, as well as the 2020 Senior Ladies Southwestern Regional Pewter Medalist and 2020 Midwestern Sectionals Singles Final Competitor. Kristen also competes collegiately on behalf of the figure skating team at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs and is a 3x Intercollegiate National Medalist. She currently attends the University of Denver where she is a pre-law student in her final quarter of school studying criminology and political science.
Co-Director, On-Ice Instructor
On-Ice Director for Learn to Skate and Power Skating coach for Boulder Hockey Club, and a Colorado native that began her career at 9. She competed in all four disciplines of skating but specialized in Pairs Skating and became the US Triple Gold Medalist and a 3x U.S. National Championship Pairs competitor and International Team USA member. Coaching in 1990, initially only trained figure skaters but met NHL Power Skating coach Steffany Hanlen & a 6-month mentorship developed a true passion for the art of power skating for hockey players.
Coaching credentials include Senior Freestyle and Senior Group Instructor rating and Hockey Power Skating Level 4 from the Professional Skater Association, USA Hockey level 4 certified coach and is an American College of Sports Medicine certified athletic trainer. Jill graduated from CU Boulder with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Kinesiology and received her M.S.in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Denver.
Lizzie Liles, is a former Flight Attendant, Professional Dancer, and an Ice Skater. She is a member of La Furia Synchronized skating team, skates ice dance and freestyle. Lizzie got a gold medal, in ice dance and freestyle at the ISI Adult skating competition in Lake Tahoe in 2018. She has been coaching all ages for many years and moves her classes quickly, with attention to detail to further progress in skating skills.
I have been skating for 19 years and coaching LTS for about 12 years. I usually work with smaller munchkins or adults. I have an infant daughter whom I hope to get on the ice ASAP when she is old enough.
Kiera’s passion for figure skating has not wavered since her first steps on the ice at 8 years old. Coached by Colleen Mickey, a US Figure Skating National Technical Specialist, and training in camps alongside Olympic coach Frank Carroll, she trained competitively for 5 years. Kiera has 7 years of figure skating experience and 3 years of coaching experience. She began coaching in Learn to Skate programs at the age of 12 and can’t wait to see more of her students improve!
Claire Lao has been teaching Learn to Skate at the Sport Stable for almost 4 years and began teaching private lessons in early 2019. Additionally, she is currently teaching Chinese cultural dance. Claire began skating when she was 5 years old in the learn to skate program and began learning ballet at the same time. She has participated in various skating competitions and shows. She has also passed her Senior Moves in the Field Test for figure skating.
Katherine Chow is 15 years old and loves figure skating! She skated competitively for 5 years and now is enjoying teaching at Sport Stable. She speaks Mandarin, is very friendly and is excited to work with all kinds of people!
